With Wollamhsram, Park extends her approach by transforming Lichtekooi into a fictional house of worship centered on the desire to “enjoy time.” Drawing on the marshmallow — both the pillowy candy and the root — the work questions capitalist ideas of time and self-control. Inspired by the 1970s marshmallow experiment, Park proposes an alternative experience of time — not linear and progressive, but something that spirals, overlaps, sediments, queers, and loops in and around itself. Through shared rituals, including drinking marshmallow moonshine, visitors are invited to release self-discipline and deferred pleasure and to inhabit a dense communal present. The marshmallow morphs from a tool of judgment into an invitation to experience time in the layered now.
